Second task was to be commenced towards the very end of the project when the majority of sounds were loaded into the game. No sound libraries were used and not a single contractor contributed anything towards this project. Outsourced sound creation (contracting someone else to do the work)įor AngryBots game I used foley recordings (in my basement studio at home), location recordings (train station, shower, firework display, car park etc.), audio editing, synthesis and sampling. Sound Creation (Audio editing) (manipulating and mixing prerecorded sounds) Sound Libraries (when you don’t have time to do the recordings yourself) Location Recordings (recordings done outside the studio) Use of Sounds and Music in Computer Gamesįoley Recordings (sounds recorded in the recording studio) In my blog I explained this in more detail. And there are few different ways of how you can go about this task. The task consisted of three parts:Ī) replace existing sounds with the new ones,ī) add new additional sounds, including music, to enhance the gameplay even further and,Ĭ) adjust the levels, pitch and other parameters of the sounds so they blend together nicely (similar to mixing a tune).įirst task is most time-consuming and requires you to be very organized in your file management. My task was to create completely new sounds for the game, including ambient noises, player’s and enemies’ movement sounds, shooting and explosion noises and so on. It has one complete level of gameplay with lots of different rooms and quite a few crazy robots that want to kill you or die trying. One day.Īlso, crossing my fingers on Onlive or Steam this year which ever comes first will be getting my funds.Out of numerous freely available demo games crafted using the Unity engine AngryBots stands out as the most exciting one to me. Angry bots demo android#Once iphone users see a few games on Android thats huge that they can't even play they will notice what they been missing. Can't wait to Google advertises gaming more which I believe is coming soon. Angry bots demo psp#What if something actually popular came out.īeats carrying around a 3ds or Psp just to play a game when I can do it right from my phone. Angry bots demo plus#Spectral Souls did and that game isn't even close graphically as this but over 10,000 users so far have paid $15 bucks for it because it has value plus its limited to only rpg fans which is surprisingly a lot of people since many people didn't even get this game on psp. Hope someone gets pair and takes the risk to see what happens with actual support for the game. Give me console quality game on my android and I'll pay $10-$20 easy if the value of the game is worth that. What you make is what people will pay for. Would love to see Angry Bots graphics or better in a real game with zoom in and out. Angry Bots does look better lighting, graphics, etc but Dungeon Defenders does have a ton of more thing going on but I can run Dungeon Defenders on my rooted Nook Color on max with no lag. I never really got into when it came out because it ran terribly on the EVO 4G. It's been a while since I've played DD so I wanted a refresher of what it looks like. I'll try it again when I'm on campus tomorrow using a faster connection. When you beat the demo you go into an art gallery in a 3rd person view (rather than the previous ariel view) and you can see how much detail both your character and the enemy bots actually have as well.ĭungeon Defenders was updated last week and the E3D supposedly works now, and I've tried downloading it several times without success (can't connect to the server for some reason). IMO, based off of your original statment, you have to be out of your mind to say that DD has better graphics than this demo because it simply does not (that's not to say DD doesn't look nice but as Shocky stated, DD looks blocky compared to Angry Bots). Although it is only a tech demo and doesn't have a whole lot of enemies compared to DD, there is nothing wrong with the current performance that indicates that these devices can't handle more intense battles (there are quite a bit more enemies as you get farther in the compound aside from that, this game genre wouldn't call for 200 enemies at once anyway). The whole lack of enemies argument is moot. Although you bring up some valid points, I think the game Shadow Gun, using the same engine and visual effects, will prove to be better than both of these games (at least visually). Click to expand.I agree with Shocky that this demo looks better.
